Celebrating Earth Week in Houston

We are proud to present the Conn’s Green 6.2 events as the premier eco-friendly green running event in Houston during Earth Week.  Start your Earth Day celebrations with us during our Thursday pack pick-up party in the plaza of CITYCENTRE and finish off your week with the best event in Houston on Saturday.  Our marquee event is the Green 6.2 10K timed race.  For runners who prefer a shorted course, we have added a 5K fun run/walk to the event.  The 10K and 5K runs take you through the heart of CITYCENTRE and through a fantastic tree-filled course in the Memorial subdivisions of Fonn Villas and Frostwood.  Finally, we have a special Lemonade Day Kids K course for those aspiring runners under 11 years old.  For more details, visit our Event Details page.

Our focus during the 2012 Earth Week is to bring more environmental awareness to our running community, provide a high-quality event with the lowest possible net impact on the environment, and raise funds for the Houston Parks Board to construct running trails in Houston’s pocket parks. For more details, see our Run Green page.

Conn’s grreen6.2 is hosting The Official Lemonade Day Best Tasting Contest as a part of our race day activities.  Everyone is invited to come out as Houston chefs taste participants’ recipes. This year the contest is open for the general public to attend from 10:30am – noon and even buy lemonade so participants can get a jump start on their Lemonade Day goal! Just announced: Run our Green 10K race  in 51 minutes, 8 seconds or less and automatically qualify for the 2013 Chevron Houston Marathon &  Aramco Houston Half-Marathon in January!
